Juliao returns to Sporting after two years back in his native Brazil, eager to retake the starting right back he manned in 2014, the season he played in 23 matches, all starts, for SKC. The MLS side had first scouted him at the 2014 Disney Pro Soccer Classic when Juliao featured for Fluminense's academy team.
A marauding fullback who likes to get up and down the right flank with reckless abandon, Juliao returned to Fluminense at the end of the 2014 MLS season and the club loaned him to three other Brazilian teams (ABC Futebol Clube, Macae and Ferroviaria).
OUTSIDE MLS: Juliao joined Fluminense as an 8-year-old. After nine years of development in their academy system, Julião made his Série A debut in 2012 at age 17. He played three games during his first professional season as Fluminense FC won its fourth league title in the club's 114-year history. In 2013, Julião enjoyed a breakout campaign that saw him make 22 total appearances for the reigning Série A champions.
INTERNATIONAL: Appeared for Brazil's Under-20 national team in 2013, playing three matches at the South American Youth Championship.
