Barrett is an MLS lifer (save for a very brief loan spell in Norway) who has won over fans at all six of his teams with his high work rate and propensity for clutch goals. He comes to Salt Lake after stops in Chicago, Toronto, LA, New England, Seattle and San Jose. He has racked up 58 goals in 275 league appearances and was a member of the LA Galaxy's MLS Cup-winning squad in 2011. He also has US Open Cup wins with Chicago (2006) and Seattle (2014), a Supporters' Shield with Seattle (2014) and two Canadian Championship titles with Toronto (2009, 2010).
INTERNATIONAL: Barrett has one cap for the senior US national team, which came in a World Cup qualifier on June 22, 2008 against Barbados. He has also represented the US at the U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels. Scored three goals for the US at the 2005 Under-20 World Cup.
OUTSIDE MLS: Barrett spent the second half of the 2012 season on loan with Norway's Valerenga, where he made five appearances without scoring a goal.
COLLEGE: Played two seasons at UCLA, making 23 career appearances with 17 starts. Scored 16 goals and added 18 assists while helping the Bruins to a 34-6-3 record. A two-time Second Team All-Pac-10 performer (2003, 2004), 2003 Pac-10 Co-Freshman/Newcomer of the Year. Left UCLA after his sophomore season to sign with MLS.
