2013: After starting in three of New York's first four matches, Barklage was forced to sit out the Mar. 30 meeting against the Union after receiving two yellows in the Mar. 23 Red Bulls loss to the Montreal Impact. Returned to action on Apr. 7 against the Chicago Fire, adding an assist on Jamison Olave's second goal of the season. Earned his second assist of the season in New York's Apr. 13, 2-0 win over D.C. United, when his header in the box fell to the foot of Jamison Olave, who slipped it past Bill Hamid for his third of the season. Dished the assist on Fabian Espindola's third goal of the season, scored against the Revolution in an Apr. 20, 4-1 win at Red Bull Arena. Dished the assist on Dax McCarty's game-winning goal in stoppage time on July 27 in the Red Bulls' 4-3 win over Real Salt Lake.
2012: Made his New York Red Bulls debut in 4-1 win against the Colorado Rapids on March 25 and accumulated 16 starts in 19 games played. Finding his place on the Red Bulls’ back line, Barklage tallied two goals, both of which came against his former club on June 24, 2012, and five assists. Finished the season with an injured foot (plantar fasciitis), but signed a new contract with the club on November 26.
2011: Appeared in four MLS matches for D.C. United, logging 38 minutes and registering two shots on goal.
2010: Played in just three matches, including two starts, due to ACL tear. Logged a career-best 205 minutes of action.
2009: Drafted by United in the 3rd Round of the MLS SuperDraft. Played in four matches, logging 98 total minutes. Made first career start on May 6 at Kansas City. Scored two goals in U.S. Open Cup play before tearing ACL in the competition, ending his season.
Collegiate/Club: Began collegiate career at the University of New Mexico from 2005-06. Played in every match as a freshman, helping the Lobos to the NCAA Tournament. Earned First Team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors in his sophomore season. Transferred to Saint Louis University and spent junior and senior seasons at the school in 2007-08. As a senior, he was named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Season and was a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection. Played with the Chicago Fire Premier on the club level throughout college.
