KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Wizards, in conjunction with the Kansas City Chiefs and Arrowhead Stadium, have announced new security measures that will go into effect beginning with this weekend's match against the MetroStars on Saturday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m. CT.
In order to further enhance fan safety and comfort, everyone entering Arrowhead Stadium for a Wizards game beginning September 10th will be subject to hand searches, referred to as "pat-downs". The pat-down requirement is not a result of any specific threat information, but rather an added measure of security.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at the stadium gates early to help facilitate this additional security measure. All fans entering Arrowhead Stadium will be subject to and should expect to be patted down by security personnel before going through stadium gates.
On Saturday, the Wizards will host the MetroStars in an important Eastern Conference matchup at Arrowhead Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT. The Wizards will also host the 3rd Annual "Jerseys Off Their Backs" Night to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Saturday. All 27 players' game-worn jerseys will be given away via scratch-off raffle tickets or silent auction during the game.
