The Kansas City Wizards have announced the hiring of sports industry veteran Andrew Steinberg as Executive Vice President-Revenue. Steinberg joins the Wizards after spending seven years in the University of Kansas Athletics Department, most recently as the Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Revenue Development. Effective immediately, Steinberg will oversee all aspects of revenue generation and brand development for the Wizards.

In his role as Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Revenue Development, Steinberg's responsibilities included developing strategic plans to generate revenue for the department, strengthening corporate partnerships and expanding the department's brand image.
Steinberg administered the Kansas Athletics marketing and trademark and licensing departments and oversaw the KU Store and its online operations. Steinberg also served as the department liaison to IMG College, The Collegiate Licensing Company and CBS College Sports, helping Kansas Athletics identify and pursue new business ventures and opportunities.
Steinberg joined KU after serving as an associate with the law firm of Riling, Burkhead & Nitcher in Lawrence. In addition, he worked at NIKE in Beaverton, Ore., and for a sports marketing firm and an advertising agency in Denver. He earned bachelor's degrees in Media Arts and Political Science from the University of Arizona in 1996 and received a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas in 2001, where he also earned a certificate in Media, Law, and Policy. He is a member of the State Bar of Kansas and the United States Federal District Court for Kansas.
Steinberg lives in Lawrence with his wife, Leah. They have two children: daughter, Ella, and son, Matthew.
