Kansas City's 2010 schedule is also marked by balance. The Wizards will play every MLS team once at home and once on the road in the League's first-ever completely balanced schedule. MLS now contains 16 teams with the addition of the Philadelphia Union in 2010.
The Wizards' schedule includes a two-week MLS-wide break for the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The stoppage in play begins with the World Cup's opening match on June 11th, and continues until the end of group play on June 25th. Kansas City's last game before the break is June 10th at home against Philadelphia Union, which will also be the expansion team's first visit to Kansas City. The Wizards will return to action following the World Cup break at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on June 26th when they take on the New York Red Bulls.
