All of the context surrounding the Montreal Impact's trip to New England to play the Revolution on Wednesday night would have hinted at a Revs victory.
The Impact were on the road again, without stars Ignacio Piatti and Saphir Taider, coming off a 3-0 loss just four days ago. Most importantly, due to a flight cancellation on Tuesday then delay Wednesday, the Impact only arrived in New England a few hours before kickoff.
None of it mattered.
The Impact persevered, frustrating the hosts before scoring three late goals to seal a 3-0 victory behind Shamit Shome's 79th minute winner and a brace from substitute Anthony Jackson-Hamel.
Now, the Impact focus on another Eastern Conference showdown this weekend, hosting the Chicago Fire on Sunday (12:30 pm ET | TVAS — Full TV & streaming info).
