Jordan Morris has apparently made up his mind.
A day after Werder Bremen reportedly offered Morris a contract, the German club's general manager, Thomas Eichin, said that the 21-year-old forward has decided to begin his professional career in the US.
“The player has made it clear after intensive discussions that he currently sees his future in America,” Eichin told Werder Bremen's website on Tuesday. “This decision, we respect, of course. We are in a situation where we need players who identify with Werder and the way here completely and can fully focus on the task.”
While Morris has yet to publicly comment on the matter, Seattle have said they offered the US national team striker the richest Homegrown deal in MLS history. Turning down Bremen for a "future in America" would seem to indicate the Sounders are Morris' likely destination.
Morris, who made the decision to turn pro after winning the College Cup with Stanford last month, has spent the past two weeks training with Werder Bremen.
