Wizards Host Toronto FC Saturday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark
Kansas City returns to its 2008 home CommunityAmerica Ballpark Saturday for a 7 p.m. kickoff against Eastern Conference rivals Toronto FC. The Wizards will look to move up in the 2008 MLS Cup Playoff picture, as they are only four points out of the final playoff spot after last Saturday's 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy.
The Wizards are 0-1-1 against Toronto this season, with both matches played at BMO Field thus far. Kansas City is 2-1-2 all-time against the Canada-based side, including a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC in the first-ever match played at BMO Field.
Saturday's match could see a current Wizards player overtake former Kansas City standout and current TFC Manager Mo Johnston in the record books. Wizards midfielder Davy Arnaud currently sits on 30 career goals and 28 career assists. With one more goal, Arnaud will tie Johnston for 3rd place on the Wizards all-time goals list. With another assist, Arnaud will surpass Johnston and sit alone in 3rd place on the club's all-time list. Arnaud has scored in each of the last three games and also recorded an assist on the team's first goal Saturday. He is up for Goal of the Week for his 35-yard bomb in the 69th minute against the Galaxy.
Tickets are still available for the match by calling the Wizards at (913) 387-3400, visiting KCWizards.com or at any Ticketmaster outlet. The Wizards will distribute 3,000 pompons at the match as part of U.S. Youth Soccer Month. Also, one lucky youngster will take a kick during halftime with a chance to win $10,000.
