Real Salt Lake Aiming for Capital Gains Saturday at D.C. United

Real Salt Lake (3-5-1, 10 pts.) will look to end its road woes and four-game winless streak in one fell swoop this Saturday, May 23, when the Claret-and-Cobalt will finish off their season series against Eastern Conference co-leader D.C. United (3-1-6, 15 pts.). Kickoff from RFK Stadium in our nation's capital is set for 5:30 p.m. MT for a contest that will be televised live on KUTV 2.2 Digital / Comcast 111, beginning with the America First Credit Union Pre-Game Report at 5:00 p.m. Fans can also follow the action live via RSL's official radio partners: KALL 700 Sports (America First Credit Union Pre-Game Report begins at 4:30 p.m.) and KE BUENA 1600-AM.

Saturday will mark the second and final meeting of the season for Real Salt Lake and D.C. United, the first occurring at Rio Tinto Stadium back on April 11. RSL fell behind in that match after a Luciano Emilio goal in the 38th minute, but equalized two minutes later through Jamison Olave and used Javier Morales' first score of the season in the 80th minute to post a 2-1 victory. RSL's win evened up the all-time series with United at 4-4-1, the subsequent .500 mark tying the Utah side's best winning percentage against an MLS opponent (also 3-3-3 v. New England and 2-2-3 v. San Jose).

However, RFK Stadium has not been kind to the Claret-and-Cobalt, who have taken just one point out of four contests in the nation's capital, that lone point coming from a 1-1 stalemate back on Sept. 9, 2006. In last season's match at RFK, United used two penalty kick conversions by Jaime Moreno in the first 51 minutes to build a lead en route to a 4-1 victory over RSL on April 26, 2008.
