The LA Galaxy will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday at New England.

CARSON, Calif. --
The LA Galaxy will look to snap their nine-game winless streak and get back to their winning ways on Saturday when they travel East to take on the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium. The Galaxy have just one regular season win against New England in their last nine tries and have never won a regular season game at Gillette Stadium, but the stadium was the venue for the Galaxy's first-ever MLS Cup championship in 2002. The match kicks off at 4:30 p.m., (PT) and can be seen live nationally on HDNet and locally on FSN Prime Ticket starting with the 'Galaxy Live' pregame show at 4 p.m. Fans can also listen to all the action live in English on AM 570 and in Spanish on KWKW 1330 AM ESPN Deportes Radio.

Galaxy Team Notes

LEWIS TAKES PART IN FIRST TRAINING:
New signing Eddie Lewis trained with the Galaxy for the first time on Monday after joining the club last week. The 34-year old left-sided player began his career in San Jose, before moving to England after the 1999 MLS season. He spent the next eight years in the top two divisions of English soccer, spending time with Fulham, Preston North End, Leeds United and Derby County. A member of the U.S. National Team with 81 caps to his credit, Lewis played for the U.S. on Wednesday in the 1-0 win in Guatemala, before traveling to Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon with teammate Landon Donovan.

Lewis left that game in the 65th minute after a nasty elbow from Guatemala's Gustavo Cabrera opened a cut that required stitches above Lewis' right eye. Despite the stitches, Lewis is expected to be available for selection on Saturday against the Revolution.

BACK FROM CHINA: David Beckham was also back in training on Monday for the first time in a week. Beckham played for England on Wednesday in their 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic, setting up England's first goal, before flying to China where he was a part of the Closing Ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics, as the city of Beijing officially passed the Olympic flag to Beckham's hometown of London, the host of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

NINE STRAIGHT: With their 1-0 home loss to the Chicago Fire on Thursday, the Galaxy's winless streak stretched to nine games, making it the second longest such streak in club history. Since their last win on June 14 at San Jose, the Galaxy are 0-5-4 and have been outscored 22-12 in that stretch, allowing two or more goals in seven of those nine games.

A loss or draw with the Revolution on Saturday will see the Galaxy match the club record for the longest winless streak. Between May 6 and June 24 during the 2006 season, the Galaxy went 10 straight matches without a win, going 0-8-2 while being shutout six times.

ALAMO UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL SURGERY: Galaxy goalkeeper Charles Alamo underwent successful surgery on Monday morning to repair a partial tear of his left ACL. Alamo, who missed the first four months of the season, as well as much of the preseason, after suffering a similar injury, injured his knee in the second half of the Galaxy's Reserve Division game against San Jose on August 3. The San Luis Obispo native is scheduled to be out for approximately six months and has been placed on the club's Season Ending Injury List.

DON'T MISS GALAXY DEPORTIVO EVERY WEEKEND: Galaxy Deportivo, the Galaxy's official weekly half hour show, is back for another year and can now be seen every weekend on two different stations. The show will first air on KWHY-22 every Saturday night at 6 p.m. with a series of features and interviews that provide insight into the weekend's game.
