2020 MLS Regular Season – Week 1
Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Sporting Kansas City
BC Place – Vancouver
February 29 – 10:30 PM ET
TV: TSN
STREAMING: MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US
After scoring goals in Liga MX, Lucas Cavallini and Alan Pulido meet as MLS foes for the first time when the rebuilt Vancouver Whitecaps host Sporting Kansas City at BC Place Saturday night.
It's another rebuild for the Whitecaps, who spent a club-record haul to bring in Cavallini, the Canadian international who previously played up top for Puebla. Vancouver also brought in Colombian winger Cristian Dajome and Leonardo Owusu, a 22-year-old Ghanaian who can provide some bite next to Inbeom Hwang, who had a standout first season a year ago.
Sporting Kansas City also splashed a record amount of cash to sign Pulido, who was the Liga MX Golden Boot winner in his last season with Guadalajara. The Mexican international joins a seasoned attack that includes Johnny Russel, Daniel Salloi and Gerso and Felipe Gutierrez as the No. 10 as SKC hope its lackluster 2019 season was an aberration.
