The US National Team is set to face five-time World Cup champions Brazil in a rematch of the 2009 Confederations Cup only a month after the final whistle blows in South Africa.
The two teams will meet in the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Tues., Aug. 10.
"It is always an exciting opportunity when you have the chance to play one of the best teams in the world," said US head coach Bob Bradley in a statement. "We are constantly seeking ways to challenge our team and continue to raise the bar, and these types of matches are an important part of that process.”
Because the match will fall on a FIFA international date, both teams will be able to call upon their top players.
The last time the two sides met was in the final of the 2009 Confederations Cup held in South Africa. The US surprised everyone by going up 2-0 lead in the first half, but went on to lose the match 3-2 on a furious Brazil comeback in the second frame.
Kickoff at the New Meadowlands Stadium has been set for 8 p.m. ET. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
