A week after becoming the first American player to score in an FA Cup final, Christian Pulisic could be poised to make even more history.
The US men’s national team star is one of eight finalists for the Premier League’s Young Player of the Year Award, it was announced Friday.
In his first season at Stamford Bridge, Pulisic helped lead Chelsea to a top-four finish in the league. Despite battling injuries, the 21-year-old had nine goals and six assists in 25 overall appearances, including that opening goal at Wembley Stadium against Arsenal before leaving the FA Cup with a hamstring injury that rules him out for the Blues’ Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash against Bayern Munich Saturday.
Pulisic is joined by Chelsea teammate Mason Mount, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Dean Henderson from Sheffield United.
The winner will be selected from a fan vote.
