US international midfielder Luca de la Torre is making the move from Fulham to Eredivisie side Heracles Almelo, per a Thursday announcement.
De La Torre, 23, had been with the Fulham organization since 2013 after making the move from his youth club San Diego Surf, only appearing in seven first-team matches in the English Championship. He did pick up several more appearances in cup play, earning a Man of the Match nod against Milwall after picking up a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win.
The San Diego native will hope that the change in scenery will result in some more minutes. De la Torre was a regular on the US youth national team circuit, making 28 appearances for the U-17s from 2013-2015 and 15 for the U-20s from 2016-2017, picking up four goals. He also has one senior cap for the US men's national team, which he picked up in a June 2018 in a friendly against Ireland.
De la Torre's deal with Heracles is reportedly for two years.
