The US men’s national team will kick off their summer schedule at Talen Energy Stadium, the home of the Philadelphia Union, with a friendly vs. Bolivia on Memorial Day (May 28), US Soccer announced on Thursday.
Set for 7 pm ET (broadcast live on FS1, UniMás and UDN), the match is the first of three friendlies in a two-week span, with the US set to visit Ireland in Dublin on June 2 and France in Lyon on June 9. Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 22.
“With the addition of the Bolivia game, we have a great set of experiences on the table for our young players this summer,” USMNT head coach Dave Sarachan said in a federation release. “Bolivia presents different challenges than Ireland and France. We’re thrilled to be starting the tour in Philadelphia, one of the great soccer communities in the United States and a fan base that has always supported the national team.”
The Memorial Day clash marks the USMNT’s third visit to the riverside venue in Chester, Pennsylvania, and their eighth all-time meeting with Bolivia. Four of those previous matches ended in draws, while the South Americans have won two and the US have won one.
Their most recent matchup was a pre-Copa América Centenario friendly in Kansas City in 2016, a 4-0 US win highlighted by Christian Pulisic’s first goal with the senior national team. Currently sitting 47th in the FIFA World Rankings, Bolivia – like the USMNT – missed out on the 2018 World Cup, finishing second-to-last in the CONMEBOL qualifying process.
