Univision radio Los Angeles is the official Spanish-language radio partner of Chivas USA

CARSON, Calif. - Major League Soccer club Chivas USA announced today that Univision Radio Los Angeles is the team's official Spanish-language radio partner for the 2006 season and beyond. Per the terms of a multiyear agreement, which makes Chivas USA the flagship sports property of Univision Radio Group, uniting two of the most powerful brands in sports and broadcasting, Univision will carry all of the team's games live on AM outlet KTNQ 1020 Los Angeles, which will also feature Chivas USA's official weekly show, 'Sangre Chiva', Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. PT. Renowned sports journalist Hipólito Gamboa will be Chivas USA's play-by-play man, while former Chivas USA and Mexican First Division goalkeeper Martín Zúñiga will provide color commentary.

Under the deal, Univision Radio Los Angeles will promote the Chivas USA brand on its three FM stations in the Los Angeles market, KSCA La Nueva 101.9 FM, KLVE 107.5 FM and KRCD/KRCV Recuerdo 103.9/98.3 FM, while Chivas USA will support the station with such elements as stadium signage and incorporating Univision Radio Los Angeles into the team's promotional and community activities, along with other joint initiatives.
