MLS teams will open the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday looking to wrest continental bragging rights away from Liga MX, whose teams have won every edition of the tournament since it switched to its current format in 2008.
But there's also another prize on the line: the CCL winner will gain CONCACAF's coveted berth to the Club World Cup, where they will face the champions from each of the five other continental confederations.
