Could Real Salt Lake be eyeing another Argentine to bolster their defense this offseason?
A radio report out of the country, picked up by RSLsoapbox.com, linked RSL to 36-year-old Boca Juniors center back Daniel "Cata" Diaz. The defender's contract reportedly expires in June 2016 although other reports indicate that the Argentine giants will be looking to extend his stay through December 2017.
RSL feature three Argentines on their roster, the most well-known being club legend Javier Morales. But RSL recently landed former Argentine international Juan Manuel Martinez from Boca Juniors over the summer.
An RSL team spokesman told MLSsoccer.com that the club doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation.

At 36 years old, however, Diaz would seem like a stretch for an RSL side that recently struggled with injuries on a backline that already features Colombian Jamison Olave, who turns 35 next April.
RSL's 48 goals conceded in 2015 may have been the second-highest total in the 10-team Western Conference, but it was still good enough for 13th in the 20-team MLS. It wasn't a good enough total to prevent them from missing out on the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in seven years.
