Impact left back Ambroise Oyongo was linked to Europe earlier this week, when French outlet L’Equipe reported that Ligue 1 club Guingamp is in talks with Montreal about acquiring the Cameroonian international.
Oyongo, 25, is in his third year in MLS and second with the Impact. He’s been a mainstay in Montreal since making his MLS debut for the club last May, and has five assists in 17 regular season appearances this year.
The former New York Red Bull has 14 career appearances with the Cameroonian national team. The Impact would have to complete any deal to sell Oyongo to France by August 31, when the Ligue 1 summer transfer window closes.
