The Toronto FC players and coaches are about 3,500 miles from home as they prepare to face Mexican host Chivas de Guadalajara in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions League final on Wednesday (9:30 pm ET; TSN in Canada | UniMás, UDN, go90.com in US).
But their hearts remain in Toronto as they’ve been processing and reacting to the horrific tragedy that occurred Monday when 10 pedestrians were killed and many more injured by a man driving a van down a packed Toronto street.
During the CCL press conference, TFC captain Michael Bradley also praised the police officer who arrested the suspect before expressing love for his city.
Toronto will return home after the CCL concludes and host Chicago on Saturday (3 pm ET; CTV — TV & streaming info).
