Greg Vanney can add another trophy to his collection.
After leading Toronto FC to the MLS Cup, Supporters’ Shield and Canadian Championship, the TFC head coach was named the CONCACAF Men’s Football Coach of the Year.
CONCACAF unveiled most of their 2017 awards on Tuesday, two days after announcing Alex Morgan and Keylor Navas as the Female and Male Players of the Year during Premios Univision Deportes.
Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake, a Jamaican national team star, finished third in Male Player of the Year voting and also second in Goalkeeper of the Year behind Navas.
Other MLS players to be honored were the Vancouver Whitecaps defender Kendall Waston (Costa Rica), Seattle Sounders defender Roman Torres (Panama) and Houston Dynamo forward Alberth Elis (Honduras). All three were included on the CONCACAF Male Bext XI, along with US national team star Christian Pulisic.
