Dwayne De Rosario, Stefan Frei and O'Brian White are the candidates for the Esquire Player of the Month award for September. The winner will be presented with an Esquire watch before kick off at Toronto FC's match against San Jose Earthquakes at BMO Field on Saturday. Dwayne De Rosario Dwayne De Rosario scored two goals during the month of September with the first coming in the 3-2 win over Colorado Rapids at BMO Field on September 12. To watch the goal,click here. He also assisted on O'Brian White's goal later in the same match. The Canadian international scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season in the 2-2 draw at Chicago Fire. He gave TFC an early lead at Toyota Park and then sent in the cross for Chad Barrett to score in the second half. De Rosario previously won the Esquire Player of the Month award for July.


Stefan Frei After finishing August by winning the Save of the Week award and keeping a clean sheet against Seattle Sounders, Stefan Frei continued his strong performances into the month of September. The Swiss goalkeeper earned two more MLS Save of the Week awards in the back-to-back games against Colorado Rapids and has enhanced his chances of winning the MLS Rookie of the Year title. Frei previously won the Esquire Player of the Month award for March/April.


O'Brian White The young forward scored his second professional goal with a sublime finish in front of the Supporters Section at BMO Field in the 3-2 win over the Colorado Rapids on September 12. That strike won him the Major League Soccer Goal of the Week award.
