Nearly two full months since their last victory, Sporting Kansas City are looking to end a seven-match winless run when they host a Seattle Sounders side unbeaten in their last six games.
Krisztian Nemeth had a positive start for SKC (2-4-5), putting his team in front on 37 minutes, but the forward was sent off in the second half for a hard tackle on Felipe and the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps leveled late through substitute Derek Cornelius in a 1-1 draw.
The Sounders (7-1-5) produced a rotated lineup on short rest, but left Talen Energy Stadium with a point following a 0-0 draw. The big news in Seattle following the game was the announced retirement of legendary defender Chad Marshall, a three-time MLS Defender of the Year, who hung up the cleats after a storied 16-year career.
