After their second loss of the season, LAFC look to get back to their winning ways when they face Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park Wednesday night.
Sporting (4-6-7) will attempt to climb out of last place in the Western Conference and rebound from 2-0 loss to Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday night. Sam Johnson struck for a brace inside the opening 30 minutes to lift RSL.
LAFC (11-2-4) had an eight-match unbeaten streak snapped with a 1-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids Friday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. LAFC have two losses on the season, both 1-0 on the road. Danny Wilson scored the game's lone goal four minutes into the second half, rising high to latch onto a Jack Price corner and heading past Pablo Sisniega. Already without Tyler Miller, Mark-Anthony Kaye and Walker Zimmerman to international duty, LAFC also rested Christian Ramirez and Eduard Atuesta.
This is the second regular season meeting, with LAFC winning 2-1 at Banc of California Stadium March 3. Krisztian Nemeth opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Diego Rossi leveled two minutes into the second half and Adama Diomande scored the winner in second-half stoppage time.
