After a strong road performance in Week 1, Sporting KC are hoping to secure three points in their home opener against a Houston Dynamo side that earned a positive home point against the LA Galaxy to start the season. 

A pair of debutants scored their first MLS goals to lead Sporting Kansas City to a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place Saturday night. Club record-signing Alan Pulido opened his account in the 17th minute and, after Jake Nerwinski leveled in the 28th minute, Gadi Kinda gave the visitors the lead on a thunderous first-time strike in the 39th minute. Erik Hurtado put the finishing touches on the road win with a second-half stoppage time strike against his former club.

The Dynamo rallied from a first-half deficit to secure a 1-1 home draw against the LA Galaxy Saturday at BBVA Stadium. Cristian Pavon gave the visitors the lead on a 13th-minute golazo, but Mauro Manotas equalized in the 54th minute, collecting a through ball from Zarek Valentin and slotting a low shot past David Bingham.
