What's at stake?

A streaking FC Dallas team aims for its fourth consecutive win against the Sounders. Seattle, on the other hand, have conceded nine goals in the past three matches and desperately need points to avoid missing the playoffs.

Last meeting

Seattle and Dallas met in the last regular-season match of the 2009 season, with Seattle taking a 2-1 victory at Qwest Field. Nate Jaqua and Brad Evans scored as the Sounders came back from an early Atiba Harris goal. The loss ended FC Dallas’ slim playoff hopes.

Remember when…?

FCD were arguably the hottest team in the league when they came to Seattle last October. Once again, they enter having won the past three matches against San Jose, Chivas USA and Kansas City to climb up the Western Conference standings.

Heroes & Villains

David Ferreira vs. Jeff Parke/Tyrone Marshall—The danger man for FC Dallas over the recent winning streak has been Colombian Ferreira. Having scored in three of his past four matches, including twice from the penalty spot, he will top Seattle’s list of concerns.

Fredy Montero vs. Kevin Hartman—With Seattle struggling to score goals, they will look for a piece of magic from their own Colombian talisman. Montero has beguiled goalkeepers with his heavy shot from distance. Hartman will have to be at the top of his game.

Miguel Montano vs. FC Dallas—Coach Sigi Schmid and general manager Adrian Hanauer have hinted at changes to address Seattle’s recent listless performances. Montano is one player who may have earned some playing time. He was involved in both goals in Seattle’s midweek US Open Cup win.

Stat that makes you go, “Hmm …”

Zero. That's the number of Seattle wins against Western Conference opponents in 2010.

He said it

“It's one of those ones where now we have got to carry the momentum forward. We have to get a win against Dallas this weekend." – Seattle’s Nate Jaqua after Seattle’s US Open Cup win over Los Angeles.
