Both Sesame Street and New York City FC are proudly located in the Five Boroughs, and on Sunday the Cityzens helped one of the iconic children's show's most familiar faces celebrate its 50th anniversary in style.
After Elmo and Cookie Monster turned up at the club's 24-Hour Game on Saturday, NYCFC welcomed Grover to Yankee Stadium for their match vs. D.C. United, giving the famous blue monster a fieldside view of the action, making him an honorary club member and gifting him an authentic jersey to boot.
And he tried to return the favor with some coaching tips...
It's not the first time City and Sesame Street have teamed up. Three years ago the club's first-ever signing and legendary striker David Villa got the chance to hang out with Cookie Monster and Rosita.
