Buy your Guaranteed Seat License >

NEW YORK - Major League Soccer fans have the opportunity to secure a permanent seat to the League's two marquee events, MLS Cup and the Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game, by purchasing a Guaranteed Seat License (GSL). A limited number of GSLs will be available beginning June 6 at a price of $500 per seat.

The $500 GSL price will be a one-time cost, which will entitle the GSL rights holder to a guaranteed ticket buying opportunity before each Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup throughout the life of the designated GSL holder. The 2006 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game will feature the MLS All-Stars versus English Premier League Champions, Chelsea FC, on Aug. 5 in the Chicago Fire's brand new soccer-specific stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. (seating capacity 20,000). MLS Cup 2006 is scheduled for Nov. 12 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas (capacity 21,193).

A limited number of 250 GSLs will be offered in 2006. The first 250 GSL holders will be considered "Founding Members." GSLs can be purchased only at Major League Soccer's official Web site - www.MLSnet.com. GSL holders will be notified approximately 35 days before each event and will have a minimum of five days to purchase the best available seats at the standard public ticket prices established for each event. The special purchase window for GSL holders for this year's Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game is currently scheduled for June 26 through July 5. A special allocation of the best seats in Category 1 and Category 2 will be available for GSL holders to purchase.

Both premier MLS events were sellouts last year. An overflow crowd of 23,813 fans attended the 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game at Columbus Crew Stadium and witnessed the MLS All-Stars defeat Fulham FC of the English Premier League, 4-1. MLS Cup 2005 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco welcomed 21,193 fans who saw the Los Angeles Galaxy defeat the New England Revolution. In 2005, ticket buyers for the two MLS events came from 29 (All-Star) and 43 (MLS Cup) different states respectively.

As Major League Soccer continues to increase in popularity and additional soccer-specific stadiums join the League, the availability for tickets to future MLS Cups and Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Games will be limited. The Chicago Fire's new stadium in Bridgeview is the fourth stadium built specifically for an MLS team. The Colorado Rapids and the expansion Toronto FC each open new soccer-specific stadiums in 2007, and Red Bull New York and Real Salt Lake are scheduled to open new soccer-specific venues in 2008.

A limited quantity of GSLs will be offered annually. The number of seats offered and price of GSLs in the future will be reviewed after the conclusion of the 2006 MLS season.
