Seattle Sounders defender Brad Evans is back with the US national team, US Soccer and the Sounders announced Monday, making him the latest addition to head coach Jurgen Klinsmann’s January camp in Carson, California.
Evans, 30, originally made his USMNT debut in 2009 and has 25 caps to his name. He helped the US qualify for the 2014 World Cup, appearing in five matches in the final round of World Cup qualifying and scoring a late winner – his only international goal to date – in a road game at Jamaica. The Sounders captain appeared in eight matches for the USMNT in 2015, including four in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
This year’s edition of the US camp runs until Feb. 6 and features a mix of senior and Under-23 internationals. It will culminate with friendlies at the StubHub Center against Iceland on Jan. 31 and Canada on Feb. 5.
