Three Things
- He's on Fire With his fourth goal in as many games, Jordan Morris is now in a three-way tie for the MLS all-time rookie scoring streak record. Four straight games with goals has been twice achieved by an MLS rookie: First, by Damani Ralph in 2003, and more recently, by Patrick Mullins with the New England Revolution in 2014.
- Don't We Usually Score? Being shut out tonight ended a 22 game streak of not being shut out in MLS play. It was the longest active streak in MLS, and the eighth longest such streak in MLS history. The Quakes were last held off the board on August 2nd, 2015 in a 0-0 draw with the Portland Timbers.
- Take That, Monkey! The Sounders finally got a win over those pesky Quakes, as San Jose had gone five games without a defeat to Seattle. The victory was just Seattle's third in their last 13 clashes with the Quakes. Tonight's victory also claimed the Sounders' first four-match win streak at home since April 26-July 13, 2014.
They Said It
"The objective of this homestand was to get six points. I felt confident that it was time for things to turn our way."
