After an announcement earlier this month that opening day of the San Jose Earthquakes' new stadium will be pushed back to the beginning of the 2015 season, things really got rolling at the construction site of the $60 million, 18,000-seat facility on Friday.
General contractor Devcon Construction and subcontractor Joseph J. Albanese poured the first batch of foundational concrete (above video) at an event with Earthquakes fans and season-ticket holders on hand. Over 70 trucks poured 600 yards of foundation using trucks from Central Concrete.

Kaval will also host "office hours" at the construction site once a month in order to keep fans apprised of the the stadium's ongoing developments. His next office hours are scheduled for Tuesday, October 15 from 3-7 pm PT.
