TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Extension
The San Jose Earthquakes and defender Paul Marie have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, the club announced Friday.
Marie, 25, was selected in the first round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft and has made 21 appearances (seven starts) with the club including 12 this year.
“Paul is a player we felt had the potential to compete in MLS upon selecting him during the 2018 SuperDraft,” GM Jesse Fioranelli said in a club statement. “Over the past three seasons, Paul has continued to develop and earn the trust of the coaching staff which is why we believe Paul can contribute even more to the team in the future.”
The San Jose Earthquakes recently finished their season in which they made the MLS Cup Playoffs and were eliminated after penalties in a thrilling 3-3 match against top seed Sporting KC.
