Chris Wondolowski added to his MLS record with his 155th career goal, one of three players to beat Maxime Crepeau on the night he broke Tony Meola's 22-year-old MLS record with 16 saves, and the San Jose Earthquakes defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 on Saturday night at Avaya Stadium.
Judson and Andres Rios also scored for San Jose, who registered their own MLS records with 43 shots and 19 efforts on target on a night when, quite literally, nearly all the action was in front of Crepeau's goal.
Wondolowski helped set up Judson's early leveler and Magnus Eriksson's picked up two assists as the Quakes snapped a three-match losing skid. San Jose moved into a tie on points with the LA Galaxy for fifth place in the Western Conference.
Jakob Nerwinski scored his first ever MLS goal early for the Whitecaps, who remain 10 points below the West playoff line at the bottom of the table with six matches to play.

- THE BIG PICTURE: The 17,458 in attendance Saturday night saw several things no MLS crowd has seen in more than two decades. Meola's previous record of 15 saves, and the previous record for shots on target of 18, was set in D.C. United's 2-1 win over the New York MetroStars on April 5 of 1997. The MetroStars actually set the previous record for total shots in a match with 38 in a 2-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Mutiny in 1998.
- MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Crepeau's record-breaking save was so imperceptable that announcers didn't believe it had happened in real time. Only after several re-examinations (not on this clip below) was it confirmed that his fingertips had in fact helped guide the ball onto the crossbar.
- MAN OF THE MATCH: Maxime Crepeau. It's extraordinary times when a goalkeeper gives up three goals and is the man of the match. But as we've detailed, the 25-year-old Canadian international performed in clearly extraordinary circumstances.
