A goal seconds into the second half made the difference on Wednesday, as FC Dallas defeated fellow Texas side San Antonio FC 1-0 at Toyota Stadium in the fourth round of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup.
Tesho Akindele scored quickly after the second-half restart, as the MLS side defeated their USL opponent to remain in the competition they won in 2016. While the shots taken by both teams were relatively similar, Dallas were the better side over 90 minutes and while they didn't blow San Antonio away, they were good value for the win.
