Chivas USA announced in a press release Thursday that their youth academy director of soccer, Sacha van der Most, will be the interim first team head coach for the team's match Saturday against the Seattle Sounders (10:30 pm ET, watch on MLS Live).
The man appointed head coach Wednesday following the departure of José Luis "El Chelís" Sánchez Solá, Chivas de Guadalajara technical director José Luis Real, will arrive in California next week, and as a result van der Most will step in for the weekend's match.
In his second stint as youth academy director, van der Most has helped develop the club's academy into a strong program, including a Southwest Division title for the U-15/16 team this season. He is also involved with the new Chivas USA U-23 squad, which will begin play in the upcoming Southern California Premiere League.
