RSL Stadium to feature Daktronics displays

Real Salt Lake's new Stadium has hired Daktronics Inc. of Brookings, S.D. (NASDAQ-DAKT) to design, manufacture, install and test the new integrated light emitting diode (LED) video and scoring system for the world-class venue, opening October 9, 2008, in Sandy, Utah.

"With our new state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue, we wanted scoring and video equipment to really be a part of the look and feel of gameday," said Bill Manning, President of Real Salt Lake. "With fans as passionate as ours, it will be exciting to utilize the video and animated content for a one-of-a-kind game experience."

The industry-leading system features Daktronics LED video technology with the capabilities to present live and recorded video images, colorful animation and vivid graphics with incredible brightness and wide-angle visibility. The video display will be approximately 40 feet wide by 22 feet high with pixels on 23 millimeter spacing. Daktronics LED technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.

Two full color, digital LED displays will be installed along the East and West fascia of the stadium, measuring approximately four feet high by 200 feet wide. These ProAd® digital displays use red, green and blue (RGB) LED technology to present images and information with wide-angle visibility, incredible brightness and offer complete message flexibility. When not showing exciting graphics, animation, stats, or out-of-town game scores, advertisers are highlighted with a wide variety of visuals and messages.

Additional Daktronics equipment at the new stadium include an auxiliary LED video display measuring approximately 21-feet wide by 14-feet high, an additional 24 LED ticket window displays and eight locker room clocks. The new display system will be controlled by the proven Venus® 7000 controller, V-Link® video processor and All Sport® controller.

Daktronics has numerous Major League Soccer video and message display installations, including the San Jose Earthquakes (Buck Shaw Stadium), Colorado Rapids (Dick's Sporting Goods Park), Chicago Fire (Toyota Park), FC Dallas (Pizza Hut Park), Columbus Crew (Crew Stadium), and D.C. United (RFK Stadium), and several international professional soccer stadium installations.
