Mirko Vucinic was on target against his former team as Roma continued their recent improvement with a comfortable Serie A win at Lecce.
Juan and Francesco Totti also scored as Roma built impressively on last week's derby defeat of Lazio, shattering the southerners' unbeaten home record.
The visitors had the first chance in the fourth minute when Julio Baptista played in John Arne Riise but the former Liverpool left-back's shot was saved by a diving Francesco Benussi in the Lecce goal.
Four minutes later Rodrigo Taddei tried his luck with a right-footed shot from the edge of the area but it took a deflection and went out for a corner which came to nothing.
However, in the 11th minute Roma got the breakthrough they deserved when captain Totti's clever ball set up Vucinic to beat Benussi with a low left-footed shot. The former Lecce favorite chose not to celebrate the goal.
Three minutes later Lecce's Luca Ariatti shot from 30 yards but his effort was far too high, then in the 28th minute Jose Castillo's similarly long-ranged effort was easy for Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni.
Seven minutes before the break Lecce midfielder Guillermo Giacomazzi went close with another effort from 30 yards - and soon after the visitors doubled their advantage.
Matteo Brighi's shot from the edge of the area was deflected to the feet of unmarked defender Juan, who tapped the ball into the net.
Lecce needed a stronger show after the break but Roma started the second half on top and Vucinic shot over after Baptista had headed on Daniele De Rossi's long ball.
It was 3-0 in the 49th minute when Brighi won the ball in midfield, broke well and set up Totti for a lob over Benussi.
Three minutes later Vucinic headed Totti's cross from the right past Benussi - but was denied a second goal by the post.
Roma were controlling the game with ease by now and at a relatively low tempo - with Lecce unable to find a way back into the game.
Norwegian Riise shot over 12 minutes from time, before Lecce's Simone Tiribocchi fired a powerful cross-shot just wide in the 80th minute.
Tiribocchi had the game's final chance a minute from time - but his low effort from outside the area went straight at Doni, summing up the afternoon for the Salentini.
