The Columbus Crew opened its Reserve Division schedule on Sunday with a 2-1 loss to D.C. United.
D.C. was the first to get on the board in the 30th minute on a Nick Addlery goal. The Crew responded just five minutes later, as Duncan Oughton received a nice flick from Jason Garey and tied the match in the 35th minute. The teams headed into the half notched at 1-1.
D.C. wouldn't take long to score the eventual game-winner in the second half, as Addlery tallied his second goal of the game in the 50th minute. The game appeared to be equalized in the 89th minute as Dante Washington knocked a Brad Evans rebound into the back of the net. The goal was waved off, however, after the referee assessed a foul on Evans as he collided with the goalkeeper.
The Crew Reserves return to action next Saturday, May 5 at Kansas City following the Crew's league match versus the Wizards.
