TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Reports
Sporting Kansas City could be closing in on a center forward and nearing an early goodbye for defender Emiliano Amor, according to a pair of reports.
The first comes from Spanish sports daily Diario AS, which writes that Sporting have made an a bid of a bit less than half the $7 million buyout clause on 31-year-old Getafe striker Angel Rodriguez's contract.
On Friday, SKC head coach and technical director Peter Vermes denied an offer had been made.
The Spaniard is coming off his most productive seasons. Last year he scored 13 goals for Los Azulones in La Liga, Spain's top division. The year before, he had 21 goals for Real Zaragoza in La Liga 2.
In total, he's scored 92 goals in 309 career appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Star reports the 23-year-old Argentine Amor is nearing an early return to Velez Sarsfield after the club sent him to Kansas City on a year-long loan for 2018.
A move for Amor is expected soon, a club spokesperson told MLSsoccer.com, though a destination was not specified.
Amor started three of Sporting's last four matches in all competitions, but hasn't practiced since a 4-2 loss at Houston in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals on July 18 that caused coach Peter Vermes to publicly question his team's effort, according to The Star.
In total, Amor has played five MLS matches, all since April 20.
