Retired Colombian goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon is in stable condition after he was hospitalized.
The ex-Philadelphia Union player was admitted to the Fundacion Valle del Lili clinic in his native land, according to a report from El Colombiano.
He was admitted Tuesday with a “metabolic imbalance,” but was listed in good condition as of Wednesday. The hospital said he is under medical surveillance and no timeline for his release is set.
From the hospital, Mondragon issued a statement thanking media and the community for the support and concern for his health.
Mondragon became the oldest player to compete in a World Cup at age 43 as a substitute in Colombia's win over Japan in 2014.

Mondragon played with a number of clubs through his career, including the Philadelphia Union for one season in 2011 before returning to Colombia for Deportivo Cali. He retired in 2014 and began working as a broadcast pundit last year.
