Report: Yura Movsisyan nearing return to Real Salt Lake

Transfer Watch: Yura Movsisyan

After months of speculation, it seems the dream return supporters in Utah have been awaiting is imminent.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported on Sunday that forward Yura Movsisyan has agreed to terms on a reunion with MLS and Real Salt Lake, where he played from 2007-09.

The Armenian international, who started his pro career in Kansas City before moving to RSL, has been in Europe since leaving MLS, playing for Randers in Denmark, followed by Krasnodar and Spartak Moscow in Russia.

The report says Movsisyan, who grew up in Southern California and has young children, wants to move back to the US to be closer to family. Meanwhile, RSL, who have been looking for more production from their forward line, have been angling for this return for quite some time.

Movsisyan helped RSL win their first and only MLS Cup (2009), and has climbed to even greater heights since heading to Europe: The 28-year-old was named Krasnodar's Player of the Season in 2011-12 and was the Russian Premier League co-leader in goals scored the following year.
