The LA Galaxy have seen a couple players go in the past week, but are close to adding a player that could fill the roles of either Omar Gonzalez or Juninho, if reports are accurate.
Goal.com's Ives Galarcep on Wednesday reported that LA are set to sign veteran midfielder/defender Jeff Larentowicz, who is a free agent this offseason after two years with the Chicago Fire.
Larentowicz, 32, is an 11-year MLS veteran who has played most of his MLS career as a midfielder, but featured more regularly in defense for the Fire. He ranks 17th all-time in minutes played among field players (26,139) and has tallied 37 goals and 18 assists in 301 regular-season apperances.

Larentowicz was a fourth round pick (45th overall) by the New England Revolution in the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft, making him the 93rd player drafted that year. While with the Revs, he went to three straight MLS Cup finals and won a US Open Cup (2007) and a SuperLiga (2008) before moving to the Colorado Rapids after the 2009 season, capturing an MLS Cup in 2010. He remained with Colorado through the 2012 season before moving to Chicago, where he served as team captain.
The Galaxy are also reportedly close to signing English defender Ashley Cole.
