Another member of the US national team pool is mulling a stateside move to MLS, according to a new FOX Deportes report.
Goalkeeper William Yarbrough’s time with Liga MX side Club Leon appears to be near its conclusion, with La Fiera having just acquired Rodolfo Cota from Chivas de Guadalajara, and Yarbrough is said to be looking north to MLS as a result.
FOX Deportes’ Hector Cantu names the San Jose Earthquakes as the possible destination for the 29-year-old ‘keeper, who was born and raised in Mexico by Texan parents and elected to represent the United States at senior level after playing in Mexico’s youth national team system.
Andrew Tarbell is the current starter in goal for the Quakes, who parted ways with previous No. 1 David Bingham – now with the LA Galaxy – during the offseason.
Joining Club Leon in 2012 after rising through Pachuca’s academy system, Yarbrough has been a starter for La Fiera for most of the time since, helping Landon Donovan’s current club win Liga MX championships in 2013 and 2014. He holds three USMNT caps.
