With the Philadelphia Union looking to book their Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs ticket, one member of their squad may be on the shelf for the rest of 2018.
Reports from Philadelphia-based writers on Saturday emerged prior to the Union's home match against Minnesota United FC, that attacker David Accam has a sports hernia and is due to have surgery on it imminently.
Accam, 28, is in his first season with Philadelphia after three with the Chicago Fire. It's been a frustrating campaign on the field for the Ghanaian, who has just one goal and no assists in 23 MLS regular season appearances this season.
The reports do not give a timeline for Accam's possible return to action.
