TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
Toronto FC are in talks to acquire 28-year-old French winger Nicolas Benezet from Ligue 2 side Guingamp before the close of the MLS Secondary Transfer Window, according to a report from French sports newspaper L'Equipe.
Benezet has been a regular contributor in Ligue 1 for most of his career, including making 18 starts last season for Guingamp, which finished last and were relegated to Ligue 2 following a six-year run in the French top flight.
Although most comfortable on the left, Benezet can play on either flank and also in central midfield, according to his Transfermarkt profile.
Toronto have won three of their last four MLS matches to move up to eighth place in the Eastern Conference, one spot beneath the playoff line. The Reds are looking to avoid missing back-to-back postseasons following their 2017 MLS Cup triumph.
