Atlanta United coach Tata Martino is interested in securing the services of Cameroonian international Stephane Mbia, according to a report from beIN Sports France's Julien Chaput.
The 31-year-old Mbia would fill perhaps the one remaining immediate need for Atlanta United at a central defending or defensive-midfield position following the departure of Carlos Carmona earlier this year.
The former Olympique Marseille and Sevilla man was training as a guest at Sevilla after a year-and-a-half stint in the Chinese Super League, Chaput reports.
According to the same report, Atlanta is just one of several clubs that could be interested in Mbia's services.
Dirty South Soccer reports that Mbia has landed in Atlanta just a few hours after tweeting he would be traveling to the United States.
