TRANSFER TRACKER: Report

With Chris Wondolowski nearing the end of his contract, it was possible he played his last home game in front of his hometown supporters on Sunday as the San Jose Earthquakes played the Colorado Rapids to a goalless draw.

But, not long after the final whistle, reports broke that Wondo will be returning to San Jose next season, as the team has already picked up his contract option for 2019, according to Elliott Almond of the Mercury News.

Wondolowski, 35, has been with the Quakes since 2009. The veteran is one goal behind Landon Donovan's all-time MLS record of 145 and has one more chance this season to tie or break the record this weekend on Decision Day presented by AT&T against the Seattle Sounders (4:30 pm ET | TV & streaming info).

This season, Wondolowski has posted career-lows in games started, goals and minutes since 2009. The Quakes have already appointed Matias Almeyda as head coach for next season.
