Reporter Paul Tenorio of FourFourTwo tweeted on Monday --- citing a previous tweet from Serbian journalist Aca Stojanović -- that Paunovic was being considered to coach Serbia in next year's FIFA World Cup.
Former coach Slavoljub Muslin was sacked on Monday despite Serbia's successful qualification to Russia 2018.
