New York City FC striker David Villa recently urged his former FC Barcelona and Spain teammate Andres Iniesta to "share the American experience" and join him in MLS when his current contract expires, according to a report on the website donbalon.com.
Iniesta is under contract with the Catalan giants through the 2017/18 season and has reportedly recently been offered "a contract for life" by Barcelona, and has expressed a desire to retire as a member of the Blaugrana.
But he is apparently also considering playing in China, Qatar or MLS after his deal expires, and after chatting with Villa, he is leaning toward MLS as his best option.
The report noted, however, another of Iniesta's former Barcelona and Spain teammates, Xavi, who currently plays in Qatar, has put in a good word for that league as well.
